Interested in exploring U.S. Navy Direct Accession opportunities?
You can connect confidentially with a physician recruiter by completing the form below. We’ll review your specialty, board status, and timing to determine current eligibility. If you’re not quite ready, you can also continue reading below to learn more about how these roles work.
What Is the Navy Direct Accession Program?
The Direct Accession Program allows fully trained physicians to be commissioned into the U.S. Navy as medical officers.
This pathway is designed for:
- Board-eligible or board-certified physicians
- Physicians currently in civilian practice or finishing residency
- Specialists seeking a structured, mission-driven federal career
How the Bonus Works
Physicians commit to either a 3-year or 4-year active-duty obligation. The bonus may be paid either as a lump sum or prorated annually over the obligation period. Bonus structure and timing may vary based on specialty and Navy requirements at the time of accession. Because specialty needs fluctuate annually, availability is determined by current Navy medical manpower requirements.
